Contributing to Telegram's new crypto 'constitutes an action against national security' in Iran

Iran is once again cracking down on Telegram, a darling of the crypto world. Telegram, which made headlines in 2018 for its gangbuster billion dollar-plus ICO, has its own crypto dubbed Gram. But anyone involved with the new crypto in Iran will be viewed as acting against the national economic and security interests of the country, according to Tehran Times. "Secretary of Criminal Content Definition Task Force has said any cooperation with Telegram messaging app to launch Gram, the messaging app’s cryptocurrency, in Iran constitutes an action against national security and will be dealt with as a disruption to national economy," the report said. Iran banned Telegram in April 2018 after temporarily banning it in December 2017.
