Indian government websites getting hacked to mine crypto

Security researchers found hundreds of Indian government websites are being targeted. Hackers inject malware scripts, such as Coinhive, into official government websites — hijacking the computing power of website visitors and mining cryptocurrency. Additionally, the same researchers found that over 100 Indian corporate websites are also being targeted. "Earlier, we saw a lot of government websites getting defaced. Now, injecting cryptojackers is more fashionable as the hacker can make money," a security researcher said. (Source: The Economic Times)
