AWS, the on-demand cloud computing platform from Amazon, is launching two new blockchain services: Quantum Ledger Database and Amazon Managed Blockchain. While the CEO of AWS has previously dismissed the idea of offering blockchain services, stating that there aren't a lot of use cases 'beyond the distributed ledger,' and that AWS doesn't 'build technology because we think it is cool,' his views appear to have changed. According to AWS, Quantum Ledger Database is a fully managed ledger database that tracks each, and every application data change to create a verifiable history of changes over time. Amazon Managed Blockchain is a service that enables clients to create and manage scalable blockchain networks — eliminating the overhead required to create a network.
