Sony SCL, Sony's computer science research arm, has developed a cryptocurrency hardware wallet that leverages IC smart card technology to connect with a blockchain network. This hardware wallet is contactless, unlike existing hardware wallets that need to connect to PCs via USB, and is able to generate and store a private key with a tamper-proof module. A contactless hardware wallet decreases the chance of a successful hack and increases the security of a private key. (Source: Sony CSL)
